Something Else! is a dynamic Soul Jazz revue led by Vincent Herring, featuring a rotating septet of top-tier musicians delivering electrifying performances. In Vincent’s words, the group brings together “the best musicians playing great music and enjoying it thoroughly—an energy that’s truly infectious.” Their shows are a celebration of the Soul Jazz genre, blending fresh takes on classic tunes with original compositions, all rich in soulful, funky, and masterful improvisation that captivates audiences.
Billed as the “Jazz Super Group,” Something Else! continues to redefine Soul Jazz under Herring’s direction. By July 2025, the ensemble will feature Freddie Hendrix or Jeremy Pelt, Wayne Escoffery or James Carter, Paul Bollenback, Dave Kikoski, Essiet Essiet, and Lewis Nash.
